Court grants civil injunction following woman's violent and aggressive behaviour

Gloucester City Council, in partnership with Solace and Two Rivers Housing Association, have successfully applied to the County Court under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 for an injunction against Amy Jennings.

Amy had regularly caused distress to members of the public in both Gloucester and Newent and has been given a court order due to her violent and aggressive behaviour that posed a significant risk.

The court granted her order and Amy Jennings is now forbidden from:

  • Engaging in conduct which causes or is capable of causing alarm or harassment or distress to any person within the City of Gloucester or town of Newent;
  • Using or threatening to use violence towards any person within the City of Gloucester or town of Newent at any time;
  • Entering or being in a designated area of Newent at any time.

The court further ordered that a power of arrest is attached to the order, meaning Amy Jennings can be detained if she breaches any of these conditions.

Joshua Griffiths, Engagement Officer at Gloucester City Council, said: “Amy Jennings has caused a significantly amount of distress for members of the public who go about their daily lives in both Gloucester and Newent. This injunction was granted due to the co-ordination between all partner agencies who look and tackling crime and anti-social behaviour within the county."
