Housing in Gloucester

Many people, at some time in their life, experience housing problems. We are here to provide advice and help to Gloucester residents.

Affordable or Social housing in Gloucester is supplied through a range of providers, with a wide range of accommodation suitable for families, those without children and people with special needs.

The Council is the landlord of over 4600 homes within the city. Council housing is managed by Gloucester City Homes|, an arms length management organisation. It manages, maintains and improves Gloucester Council’s housing and estates. You can view its website by clicking the link below.

Registered Providers (RPs), once known as Housing associations also provide social housing in Gloucester.

The Council's Housing Service administers the Housing Register and offers a comprehensive service to homeless families, and vulnerable homeless households in the city as well as information on a range of housing initiatives. Click here to view our Service Standards|

The Council's Strategy and Enabling team has been working with others to develop a variety of schemes to meet the numerous and different housing needs in the city.

The Housing Services Client team are responsible for monitoring and administrating the agreement with Gloucester City Homes.  The team is developing web pages to get your comments on the service you receive and to provide you with more information about tenant involvement and participation in policy and strategy development.
