Pay Your Business Rates

You can pay your Business Rates in a few different ways.

Direct Debit

It’s easier to pay your Business Rates by Direct Debit as it means:

  • you don’t have to remember to make monthly payments
  • It’s safe and secure
  • You’re protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee

To set up a Direct Debit you’ll need:

  • Your Business Rate account number
  • Bank or building society name, branch and sort code
  • Account number and the name(s) on the account

Not all accounts can be used for Direct Debits. If you’re not sure check with your bank or building society.

Setup a Direct Debit

Online

Paying online is easy and secure using our 24 hour automated service.
You’ll need:

  • Your Business Rate account number shown on your bill
  • Your debit or credit card details

Pay Online

Phone

You can call our 24 hour payment service on 0800 953 5588. This is an automated phone service
You’ll need:

  • Your Business Rate account number shown on your bill
  • Your debit or credit card details

Bank or building society

You can set up a standing order or make payment via BACS.
You’ll need:

Account Name: Gloucester City Council
Account Number: 53093972
Sort code: 20 20 23
Payment reference: your Business Rate account number

Other ways to pay

You can also pay in the following ways but please be aware that your payment may take longer to reach us:

Post office or PayPoint

You can go to any Post Office or PayPoint store. You’ll need your bill with you as it has a barcode linked to your account.

Send a cheque made payable to ‘Gloucester City Council’. Write your Business Rate account number on the back of the cheque.
