Getting here

Even though Gloucester is a Cathedral city, it is a very small and friendly one, making it very easy to explore without relying on public transport. Whether it be by car, bus, coach or train you are sure to find a convenient way in, around and out of the city. Gloucester is situated just a few minutes drive west of the M5. The city also has regular services to and from London, Birmingham and Bristol via National Express Coaches and National Rail. Arriving by Train

Gloucester Train Station is approximately a 5 - 10 minute walk away from the centre of the city. The Station is part of several major lines including Cardiff Central, Birmingham New Street and London Paddington. Regular services run to and from Gloucester throughout the day. Arriving and exploring by bus

There are fantastic local bus links enabling you to easily travel in, around and surrounding Gloucester. Gloucester Tourist Information Centre holds a variety of timetables and staff are more than happy to help you to plan your local explorations by bus travel. You could also visit www.traveline.info for more timetable information or www.thecityofgloucester.co.uk for information on how to reach our attractions using a local bus service.

Both the train and bus station are opposite each other and it is a short level walk to the centre of Gloucester. Both the city centre and its attractions are signposted from the train and bus station.

Arriving by Car

If travelling by car, simply exit the M5 motorway Junction 11 if travelling from the North or Junction 12 if travelling from the South. Gloucester city centre along with Cathedral and the historic Victorian Docks will be signposted and there is plenty of parking within the city once you arrive. Arriving by Coach

Gloucester is easily reachable from most parts of England using National Express Coaches. Book your travel to Gloucester with National Express by calling 08717 818178 (0044 8717 818178 for overseas visitors) or by visiting www.nationalexpress.com. To book onward coach travel from Gloucester don’t forget to visit Gloucester Tourist Information Centre where staff will gladly book your tickets.
