Apply or Renew an Extra or Larger Black Bin
You can get an extra or larger black bin, if you're recycling everything you can by making full use of the recycling containers and if any of the following apply to you:
- 7 or more residents registered at the property
- 2 or more or children under the age of 3 and still wearing nappies
Have you heard about the Gloucestershire Real Nappy Project (PDF, 8.3 MB) - certain medical conditions
If you're having problems managing your waste and don't meet the criteria, please ensure you are making full use of the weekly recycling service.
For us to assess your application you must be recycling your waste by having a minimum of:
- 2 recycling boxes
- 1 blue sack
- 1 large food caddy
- 1 small food caddy
Use our order recycling container service to order boxes, lids, sacks and food caddies.
You'll need to provide photos of your recycling on your recent collection day (remove lids so recycling can clearly be seen)

What happens next
We aim to provide you with a decision or correspondence within 6 weeks. We may contact you for more information or a site visit may be required. Until a decision is made it is your responsibility to manage your extra waste.
