Bins & Recycling

Gloucester City Council is working with Podback to provide this new free recycling service, helping you to recycle your pods (coffee, tea and hot chocolate) at home. Podback is a nationwide, not-for-profit, coffee pod recycling service. Created by the biggest names in coffee pod systems, Nespresso, NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto and Tassimo, to give people who enjoy the quality and taste of coffee pods simple and easy ways to recycle them. For more information click here.

The Waste Wizard has been launched by Gloucestershire Resources and Waste Partnership, which is made up of Gloucestershire County Council and the district councils, to mark Recycle Week 2022.

This interactive online tool will allow anyone puzzled by recycling and waste to type in the name of any item along with their postcode to find out whether it can be reused, repaired, donated or recycled, or if it needs to go into a specific bin or collection.

Visit Waste Wizard to start using the new online tool.

How the search results are organised

  1. Ways of reusing or repairing items will appear first in the list as these are the most sustainable options
  2. Next, you'll see whether you can recycle the item at the kerbside by your district council or take it to one of our HRCs for recycling
  3. Lastly, you will see disposal options if the item is not easily recyclable
