Order bin or refuse sack

Our crews will only collect waste from a council issued bin or sack.

Your waste must be contained inside the bin or sack, with the lid closed and no side waste presented. If you present your waste in bags on the street you may face enforcement action.

If your waste is not collected due to any of the reasons mentioned above, the crew will not return until your next scheduled collection and you will be responsible for disposing of your waste.

Reduce the risk of your bin going missing or being damaged

The following hints and tips will reduce the risk of your bin going missing or being damaged:

  • don't leave your bin on the highway/pavement - store it on your property and put it out for collection just before 7am. Take your bin back onto your property as soon as possible after collection
  • put your house number on your bin
  • don't overfill your bin. Your bin is designed to carry waste and if used correctly will be good for a number of years. If it is too heavy, the likelihood of damage and a short lifespan will increase

Flats

If you live in a flat you will most likely have communal waste bins (shared facilities with your neighbours) please check with your management agent or landlord.
Flats that do not have communal facilities (usually 6 flats or less) are provided with a 140 bin per flat.
