Strategic assessment of land availability SALA
Government guidance (NPPF and NPPG) requires local authorities to consider capacity within their areas with regard to the availability of land to accommodate housing and employment development. Joint Core Strategy authorities do this through a Strategic Assessment of Land Availability (SALA) process.
The SALA does not determine or make recommendations as to whether a particular site should be allocated for housing or employment purposes, nor does it determine whether planning permission should be granted, these matters are for statutory plan and decision making processes.
Should you wish to submit a site for consideration for the next SALA review please complete the proforma. The SALA panel are due to meet next in the spring of 2019 following the completion of the Joint Core Strategy (JCS) Issues and Options consultation.
