Call for Sites for Gypsy, Roma, Traveller & Travelling Showpeople

Cheltenham Borough Council, Gloucester City Council, Cotswold District Council, Forest of Dean District Council, Tewkesbury Borough Council and Stroud District Council are working together to look for land that can be used for pitches, plots and moorings for the Gypsy, Roma, Traveller, Travelling Showpeople and Bargee communities.

This process is called a ‘call for sites’.

If you know of a site in the county that could provide permanent pitches, plots or moorings, or temporary resting places for our travelling communities, please let us know by completing the form below. You will also need to send us a site location plan. Without a plan of the site we will not be able to register the site. Details of how to do this are at the end of the form.

Please use a separate form for each site.

Please remember to include a plan of your site.

The call for sites will run until the 6th October 2023.

What happens next?

Your site will be sent to the local council for that area. Officers will check all of the sites sent to us to make sure that they are ‘suitable’, ‘available’ and ‘achievable’ for use. Those that are will be put forward for ‘allocation’ in local plans. If a site is 'allocated' it indicates that the council would like to see the site used for that use.

The council will not allocate your site without your consent.

We are always interested in looking at new sites and they can be submitted to us at any time of the year. Those submitted during the call for sites will be looked at first.
