Statement of Accounts 2022/23 & 2023/24
The Accounts and Audit (England) Regulations 2015 require the council to publish the unaudited Statement of Accounts for the financial year ending 31 March 2024 by 31 May 2024.
However, the impact of the 2021/2022 & 2022/23 accounts not being signed off has created challenges that have affected the ability to meet this deadline. The Section 151 Officer must consider whether there is sufficient information available to ensure the Statement of Accounts are true and fair and free from material misstatement.
Work is in progress to consolidate the draft accounts for 2022/23 & 2023/24 with an anticipated completion by the end of July 2024 for 2022/23, following which the period for the exercise of public inspection will commence.
A further notice will be published in due course setting out the public inspection period as soon as the draft 2022/23 Statement of Accounts has been finalised.
