Reporting ASB

Who to report ASB to

The police (non-emergency)

You can report non-urgent crime and ASB to the police by calling 101 or online at Gloucestershire Constabulary.

Your landlord, if you live in social housing

If you live in a social housing or housing association property, report ASB to your landlord first. They are responsible for dealing with issues in their properties and may pass the case to the council if needed.

Housing associations in Gloucester include:

The council, if you experience ASB in a Public Space, own your home or rent from a private landlord

The council has dedicated teams to tackle ASB, including Solace and the City Centre Engagement Officers.

Solace investigates, resolves and offers support on cases for owner-occupiers and private residents in Gloucester. They can also give guidance to social landlords and housing associations, but not in the first instance.

Find out more about Solace on our website or visit the Solace Gloucestershire website.

How to report ASB to the council

You can report ASB:

Please give as much detail as you can.  We will keep your details confidential.

What happens after you report

We will review your report within 1 to 3 working days. We may contact you for more information or to update you on next steps.

The council or Solace may:

  • assess the risk and decide on the right response
  • pass the case to another team or your local Neighbourhood Policing Team
  • give advice, offer conciliation or take legal action, depending on how serious the case is

If your complaint has not been resolved

You may have the right to ask for an ASB case review. This is a review that brings all the responsible agencies together to find a lasting solution.

The Gloucestershire Police and Crime Commissioner runs case reviews. Read about the ASB case review and how to apply on the anti-social behaviour (ASB) case review.
